In – service Day
The Scottish Government has decided that all schools in Scotland will again have an extra in-service day to continue developing a Curriculum for Excellence. It has been decided that Inverclyde’s in-service day will the 29th November, and on that day the school will be closed for pupils.
New Member of Staff
As you all know, we have a new teacher working with us in Garvel this year. Ms Judith O’May started with us in August and will be teaching P6 in the mornings. We have all – and especially the pupils – given her a warm welcome to Garvel and trust that she will enjoy her time working with us.
New Pupil
We also welcomed a new pupil to Garvel in August. Philippa Anderson joined Primary one and she has fitted in well to our P1/P2 junior class.
Funworld
We are all looking forward to going to Funworld on Wednesday 22nd September to take part in a fitness workout. Some of us are still trying to locate our leotards but I’m sure we will all enjoy the session.
Stop Press
We will be taking part in a sports event on 7th October to celebrate the Commonwealth Games. All the primaries in Inverclyde will be taking part and, as befits our size, we will be representing Gibraltar.
